A former minister of Aviation, Mr Femi Fani-Kayode, has made quite a strong case for the South easterners (Igbos) in Nigeria.
Fani-Kayode has called on Nigerians to stop stereotyping the Igbos following an act by the Founder of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, who is from the Southeast region.
Recall that Onyema airlifted 187 Nigerians from South Africa following the renewed xenophobic attacks in the country. Air Peace provided the service free to any Nigerian wanting to return home, Nigeria.
This development has caused many Nigerians to heap praises and prayers on Onyema, even as some pledged to make Air Peace their official flying company.
Reacting to the development in a tweet on Saturday, Mr Fani-Kayode wrote;
Next time you complain about Igbos or subject them to the usual nonsensical racial-stereotyping kindly remember that when our compatriots were being slaughtered in South Africa it was an Igbo man called Onyema that sent his planes to bring them home and he did so free of charge!
